Hello world!
Check back for updates and more information about registration for the ITASA 2009 Midwest Conference this year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on April 17-19, 2009.

ITASA is...

The Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Students Association (ITASA) was established by a group of students in the East Coast and Midwest who wanted to see the Taiwanese American college community grow. These individuals realized that college students have different needs from Taiwanese Americans of other age groups, and no one could understand these needs better than college students themselves.

Today, ITASA is a 501(c)(3) national organization staffed by students and recent graduates to serve their peers and their respective campuses. Over the years, ITASA has reached campuses from coast to coast and has brought thousands of students together to learn about and to address Taiwanese American issues. ITASA provides the spaces for networking, community-building, leadership training and identity-forging that are critical to the future of Taiwanese American generation. For more information about the national organization, please visit www.itasa.org.

TASC is...

In the spring of 1991, five Taiwanese Americans formed a group to discuss various issues concerning their identity. Eventually, their concerns and interests attracted many others and TASC grew to a membership of over 100 students. TASC has responded to the intimidating large group setting by forming smaller "families" where individuals are better able to share intimately with one another.

TASC proudly received the University of Illinois' Asian Pacific American Student Organization of the Year award in 1998 and, most recently, in 2005. In 2004 and 2005, U of I TASC was recognized for Outstanding Achievement by the Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Students Association (ITASA). Presently, TASC continues its goal of bridging the conflicts of being both Taiwanese and American. For more information about TASC, please visit www.uiuc.edu/ro/TASC.
